Song Lyrics to “Say Her Name” by Master P

Intro: We lost so many men now we’re losing women. I’m just trying to shed some light on the ‘Ville.

Chorus: What are we to do when it ain’t safe up in our home
Five bust down the door but they only tough when they got that chrome
One too many tshirts put that pain up in a song
Tear that up for you then Breonna now you’re gone
This for all the soldiers and the lost Queens
We’re just trying to bring hope to the real streets
Plotting on the low watch out for their schemes
We just trying to live but they just want us to bleed

Verse One: Say her name, say her name, say her name if you want change
Say her name, say her name if you feel the pain
Say her name, say her name Breonna Taylor
Say her name, say her name Breonna Taylor
We got our hands in the air and they still kill us
We say we can’t breathe they say they can’t feel us
Every person from the ghetto ain’t a drug dealer
And every cop with a badge ain’t a killer

Chorus Repeat

We only protest ‘cause we want justice
We out here fighting for our rights and they still arrest us
Them rubber bullets man they really hurt
I’m just tired of seeing people look like me up in the dirt

Chorus Repeat

Say her name, say her name, say her name if you want change
Say her name, say her name if you feel the pain
Say her name, say her name Breonna Taylor
Say her name, say her name Breonna Taylor

Outro: Yeah you know Black lives matter man we’re losing so many to bad cops. I ain’t saying all cops are crooked we’re just saying No Justice No Peace. We stand on what we believe in. Shot out to 2X shot out to everybody in Louisville Shot out to Breonna Taylor family. We’re stronger together, she brought us together. Now it’s equality and unity forever. Say her name.

Breonna Taylor was a 26-year old African American Emergency Medical Technician that was fatally shot and senselessly killed in Louisville, Kentucky by local policemen during a home invasion. A city in which Master P calls his second home, creating programs in the community for at-risk youth for over13 years. Master P says, “Getting into the studio with DeCarlo and recording this song was personal because this was a good woman who was innocently killed. So we added the struggle, the pain, the hate, the love and the unity into the song. We’re not saying that all cops are bad but the ones that committed this crime should be incarcerated.

Our mission is to unite the community, stop the injustice. and make the world say her name.” The single “Say Her Name” was produced by super-producer KP and will be featured on the highly anticipated No Limit Chronicles album which will be released on July 29th same date as the docu-series.
