Percy Miller says, “It starts with one, yourself. Challenge yourself to do right, to make a difference. Stop complaining, stop being a part of the problem and become a part of the solution. Don’t let a negative past, stop you from having a positive future. We all can change for the better. Stop the violence. Increase the peace. Save a life. Say NO to drugs. Stop the bullying. Put down the guns. Pick up a book. Set goals. Educate yourself. Dream big. Think outside of the box. Be a leader, not a follower. Stop wasting time. Prepare for the future.”
Miller continues, “We must hold ourselves accountable. It starts with one and that becomes millions. Be the light in the dark. Be the spark in the change you want to see in the world. June 29th National Day of Peace, let us realize that we can bring peace into every day. Join the movement National Day of Peace Challenge by posting your up to 1-minute video. You can express yourself through a personal story; a song; share real-life experiences and testimonies; talk about things you see in your community whether good or bad; explain what you can do or are doing to help make a difference; share your stories about relatives or friends that are incarcerated or deceased due to violence; or share positive stories on ones that have turned their lives around. You can make your challenge funny, sad, emotional, hopeful, joyful but most importantly, make it truthful. Sharing your experience with others will help us learn from each other and heal together. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Nobody is perfect. We all deserve a second chance, if you get one make the best out of it. Be accountable for your own actions and mistakes, don’t blame others. Let us save our own families and communities, by creating a better environment through awareness, love and peace.”
