“New Orleans Keep Holding On” Song Lyrics
City of New Orleans we still holding on
Everything that we’ve been through we still going strong
City of New Orleans we still holding on
Everything that we’ve been through we still going strong
Put your ones in the air for the ones that survived
And hold them higher for the ones in the sky
We love New Orleans
Put your ones in the air for the ones that survived
And hold them higher for the ones in the sky
We love New Orleans
Holding back the years
Thinking about the fear I’ve had so long
When somebody hears
Listen to the fear that’s gone
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
Turn on the news and headlines read
Another mass murder 14 dead
Silence a senseless act of violence
And I’ve gotta believe
that in light of this atrocity
even our God grieves
Who do we blame for the darkness of the heartless
Our parents and universities never taught this
Or do we through the media, music and.movies
God Bless the fallen
May they rest in true peace
Pandemics, flood waters, gun violence
Sons and daughters Thank God
Who brought us back so many times
I thank Him so many times
Crying and confused praying for better news
Mourn loved ones we lost
But celebrate their lives
While keeping memories alive
Together we are stronger
Let’s keep it together
And keep holding on forever
Ya heard me
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
I’ll keep holding on
City of New Orleans
